David Rambow, Director H.H. Bennett Studio
Wisconsin Dells, Wis. – The Wisconsin Historical Society has appointed veteran museum professional and photographer David Rambow to serve as site director of the H.H. Bennett Studio in the Wisconsin Dells.
Rambow brings to this position and to the community nearly thirty years of professional experience in historic site interpretation and management at organizations including, the National Park Service and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. He also previously managed the Pipestone Indian Shrine in Pipestone, Minnesota and formerly conducted interpretive programming at the Effigy Mounds National Monument in McGregor, Iowa.
“Dave’s passion for photography will help bring the H.H. Bennett story to life for our visitors, friends and neighbors in the Dells,” said Ellsworth Brown, the Ruth and Hartley Barker Director of the Wisconsin Historical Society.
Rambow has described this opportunity to lead the H.H. Bennett Studio’s rise to new prominence in a reimagined River Arts District as a “dream job.” Rambow holds a degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of South Dakota. In addition to his extensive career experience managing historic sites, he is an accomplished photographer with a keen interest in historical techniques such as those pioneered by Henry Hamilton Bennett.
